The Houston Church of Freethought is please to announce the engagement of Melanie Raney and Jim Ashmore. Melanie, daughter of Marilyn and Keith Raney of Birmingham, Alabama is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She holds a degree in Material Sciences and has lived in Houston since 1996. Jim Ashmore, son of Glenn Ashmore of Laramie, Wyoming and Angela Bennett of Madison, Wisconsin is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineer and Petroleum Refining. He has lived and worked in Houston since 1991 and is a founding director of the Houston Church of Freethought. A wedding in the spring of 2010 is planned.
